Rick McPherson

Rick McPherson and his wife have recently relocated to Evanston, Wyoming in conjunction with his job. He is originally a native of Colorado, spending his childhood in the four-corners area. His family business growing up consisted of exploration drilling for uranium, taking his family to temporary locations in Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. Based on my upbringing, i have been in the energy industry my entire working career, from exploration drilling, oil refining, gas-fired electrical generation, and now, wind energy. He is the Operation Manager and Maintenance Project Manager for Mountain Wind Power west of Fort Bridger. He has worked for Edison Mission Operation and Maintenance for 23 years.

In late 2009, he was given the opportunity to transfer our of the gas and turbine division and into the wind division. He jumped at the chamce for a couple reasons; 1) wind energy is appealing and dynamic method of making electrical power from one of the earth’s natural resources and 2) Evanston reminds him of where he was raised and the same type of “small town” values that formed him in his youth. He and his wife Marcia have been married for 31 years. They have two sons in California that have started lives of their own with their wives.

Rick looks forward to the challenges and opportunities that Evanston and Uinta County have to offer.
